About

Amber_AVFood is one of my favorite parts of traveling. It’s a lens through which you can learn so much about the history and culture of a land and even more importantly, connect with the local people you meet. Whether it’s creating my own tasting menu of snacks at a Singaporean hawker centre or dining with Francis Mallmann at his home in Uruguay, I treasure and savor every bite.

In the last few years, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to delve into the world of wine writing, including receiving a fellowship to attend the 2017 Wine Writers Symposium at Meadowood Napa Valley.

Outside of food, travel and writing, I also enjoy yoga, Pilates, film, fashion, museums, art and books. In 2008, I studied abroad in Germany for a year as a student ambassador with Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange. In 2013, I graduated as valedictorian from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism with my Bachelor’s of Science.
